The Famous Bullring Bull - Birmingham

The Mailbox celebrated its 15th year anniversary with a £50 million redevelopment which has seen the retail destination transformed with a glass roof and a light filled Urban Room where shoppers can socialise and attend exclusive events. The Mailbox’s flagship retailer Harvey Nichols has launched its new design concept store at the heart of the mall, offering an impressive brand portfolio and new designer offerings.

With the opening of Grand Central Birmingham, the city is now home to over 60 premium fashion shops, restaurants and cafes including a brand new John Lewis flagship store.

Shopping Centres

If you know your shopping destinations, Birmingham has definitely come up on your radar. The Bullring on New Street is one of the largest shopping centres in the UK, with over 160 high street stores full of the latest brands - including the iconic Selfridges.

For the higher end of fashion and design, the newly refurbished Mailbox has a line-up of leading stores for luxury shopping and self indulgence, including Harvey Nichols, Paul Smith, Hugo Boss and more.

Grand Central Birmingham also adds a premium shopping experience with a further list of 60 shops and restaurants including the new John Lewis flagship department store.

Resorts World Birmingham is the West Midlands' first outlet shopping experience with 50 new outlet stores.

Independent Retailers

Piccadilly Arcade and the Great Western Arcade are both known for their beautiful decor and stylised buildings that house boutique style retailers and some of the best independent specialists in the city centre.

The Custard Factory in the creative quarter of Birmingham's city centre offers 30 independent shops with specialists in vintage clothing, collectibles and even motorbikes!

The Birmingham region offers a variety of markets with an array of stalls and produce.

Over six million shoppers head to the Bull Ring Indoor Market each year to the 140 stallholders, famed for their fantastic selection of meats, fish and produce. A further 350 stalls and 17 shops make up the Bull Ring Rag Market renowned for their range of materials and goods on sale.

Jewellery Quarter

The historic Jewellery Quarter is home to over 100 specialists, jewellers and crafts-people that create over 40% of all British jewellery. It has more diamond rings and tokens of love than anywhere else in the country. As many of the shops have on-site workshops, you can have your jewellery commissioned and created personally.

The area dates back more than 250 years, a designated conservation area with over 200 listed buildings, it has been described by English Heritage as 'a unique historic environment in England - a national treasure'.

Shopping Events

Some of the biggest fashion events take place in Birmingham every year, bringing in visitors from all over Europe.
